Malasimbo: A Slice of Paradise

Since 2011, the Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival has been bringing together awesome beats, international art, and striking Mangyan crafts. This year, though, the music festival is moving from the foothills of Mt. Malasimbo to a private nature reserve park. The new venue is close to the White Beach in Puerto Galera, making it a perfect place for watching the sunset from the shore.

This music festival also spans two days, from March 1 to March 2. Watch out for foreign and local talents, an all-new silent disco stage, and the return of the legendary Malasimboat parties!

7 Quick Tips for Festival-Goers

Looking forward to world-class music festival fun at Wanderland or Malasimbo? Here are a few tips to keep inconvenience at bay.

1. Pack Well

Bring hand sanitizer, wipes, garbage bags, a flashlight, and some food and drink, aside from extra clothes and toiletries. Take a valid ID with you to the music festival, too.

2. Keep Your Valuables Around

Put your phone and your cash in hard-to-reach pockets. Your phone itself can also hold a bit of emergency money--just tuck a folded bill under the phone case.

3. Wear Sunscreen

Music festivals are fun; sunburns aren’t. Enjoy live performances despite the scorching sun by swiping on some sunscreen. Put on sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat for more protection from the elements.

4. Watch the Alcohol

You’re here to make memories, not to endanger yourself. If you’re going to drink, know your limits and stay hydrated.

5. Take a Power Bank With You

It’ll make keeping touch with your friends a lot easier, even if you use your phone heavily throughout the music festival.

6. Decide on a Clear Meeting Place

It’s common to lose sight of your friends a few times during music festivals. Pick a specific meetup spot to make it easier to find your companions.

7. Chat with Fellow Festival-Goers

This is especially helpful if you’re going to Wanderland or Malasimbo by yourself. You’ll have new friends and familiar faces to hang around or run to, if anything. Some solo revelers even find lifelong friends at these events!
